This is a picture of a ewe lamb born at the farm first week of April '12. The ewe next to her is a spring '11 ewe. She's doing very well as you can see. Just mother's milk (she's weaned now) and good green grass.
Cheviots with tails? How's that working out for you? I have one ewe lamb who didn't get her tail docked and I was afraid that I'd have to send her off to market...
This ewe lamb was docked- the standard length is to cut just past where the flaps of skin coming from the body meet the tail. The ewes with almost nothing are all having issues with flies- no protection from them with no nubs. That said, I have seen lots of Cheviots with tails left, but it's not my preference.
