Kelpie, aren't you involved in the border collie / herding trials world? Is there anyone at that kennel (red top kennels) that you could speak to, for the good of this animal?
And I believe that she's planning on getting a female. Anyone care to make a wager on how long it will be before she's breeding and selling border collies (or attempting to, at any rate)? I don't doubt that she sees that as potential "farm income."
She probably has a book deal in the works with how to train farm dogs and has sold the dealer on her author appeal and is trading him something. Clearly he'll benefit when all the Jennawannabes want puppies from him.
I'm hoping she doesn't breed them, because if I remember correctly she wrote about wanting a relation of Gibson's (half sister, etc). But, in-breeding dogs doesn't seem below her. I'm sure once money is tight enough she'd breed them, no matter how closely related they are.
I could also see her keeping Gibson intact, and not spaying this new female, and being under the idiotic assumption that these two animals won't breed because they "know" they're related-- not so! I'm sure we'll have some "mistake" puppies before we know it. I've never seen someone so clueless about how to handle animals- any animals. Just watch one of her youtube videos.

Another dog that won't be worked. I hate when people buy working dogs only to not trainer work them properly.
The breeder can't know about her situation or he wouldn't agree to sell a pup. I can't believe he just wants a sale and doesn't care.

I hope someone tells Patrick just how things really are at her farm. Why does she NEED another pet anyway? Pets are an expensive luxury.
